NHSPS strengthens board with new appointments

NHS Property Services (NHSPS), which owns and manages 10 per cent of the NHS estate, has appointed four new Non-Executive Directors to strengthen its Board and help shape the organisation’s future strategy.

Nick Moberly and Adrian Belton join the Board following previous roles in the executive teams at NHS Trusts. Both have extensive experience working in the NHS, bolstering the Board’s expertise across the health service.

Moberly began his career in the NHS in 2003 and served as the CEO of the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for nine years. Belton previously served as Chair at Stockport NHS Foundation, where he helped to drive its transformation and oversaw its organisational turnaround.

Mark Lomas will also be joining the Board as Non-Executive Director of People, Culture and Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), alongside Caroline Wehrle, who will be assuming the role of Non-Executive Director of Audit and Governance.

Lomas won Head of Diversity of the Year at the Inclusive Companies Excellence Awards and was named in the People Magazine Top 20 D&I Powerlist in 2020. Wehrle is the former Global Head of Risk and Compliance at Diageo plc, with experience in risk management, compliance and ethics, finance, audit and pensions.

Speaking about the new appointments, Jane Hamilton, Chair of NHSPS said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of four new non-executive directors to the organisation. As the NHS transforms to meet the needs of patients post pandemic, we also need to continue to play our part in helping our colleagues ensure the NHS is fit for purpose, now and in the future; I have no doubt that our new non-executive directors will help us to achieve this. Building a strong culture of diversity and inclusion is also incredibly important to us at NHSPS, and we are proud to be broadening our leadership and experience across this area within the organisation.”

Across NHSPS’ wider Board, Jane Kennedy’s term came to an end in July after three years, while David Godden has extended his term on the Board for 18 months.
