Norse cleans up with £1.9 million schools deal

Norse Commercial Services has won a number of Medway schools cleaning contracts worth £1.9 million over a four-year period.

The agreement with Medway Council covers 18 primary, junior and infant schools in the area, including two academy trust schools not under Local Authority control but which used Medway Council commissioning services to tender.

Services which will be delivered from Norse’s depot in Medway, include daily cleans of classrooms, staff rooms, communal areas, toilets, sports halls, and periodic deep cleans.

Phil Johnson, Norse’s Operations Director in Medway commented: “The transfer of these schools to Norse is a clear indication of the high level of cleaning services we provide, and the council’s satisfaction with our business practices. We are delighted to have this four-year agreement in place, which will further enhance our business with the provision of other services, alongside our already excellent working relationship with Medway council.”

Under the agreement terms, approximately 80 staff will transfer from the incumbent contractor to Norse under TUPE regulations.
