International total facilities management (FM) provider OCS, has won a seven-year contract with West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust to provide car park management services at West Suffolk Hospital. This new contract builds on OCS’s existing relationship with the trust in which the service provider delivers a window cleaning service to the facility.
The new contract involves ensuring that all vehicles have unhindered access to the site, with priority given to ambulances and other emergency vehicles, completing regular car park patrols, applying the trust’s parking policy, and implementing sanctions.
Also as part of the contract, OCS is improving the car park operation by investing in a pay on foot system, which requires the driver to pay at a payment machine before returning to their vehicle.
Gareth Hughes, national business development manager for the family-owned FM firm, said:
“The primary role for OCS in delivering parking services to West Suffolk Hospital is to ensure that the experience for patients, visitors and staff is a positive one. We care for and take responsibility for them from when they enter the hospital grounds to when they leave.”
Approximately seven OCS staff are employed in the day-to-day delivery of the 24/7 contract.
