Pabulum extends its reach in Essex

The New Year sees independent contract caterer Pabulum increase its hold on the education sector in the South of England with a series of new wins.  The first to be announced is Willowbrook School in Hutton, near Brentwood, Essex, where the health conscious catering team will be providing freshly prepared school lunches to nearly 200 four to 11 year olds from April.

Director of sales, Amanda Ciraulo, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Willowbrook. The team there already knew of our reputation for providing high quality, healthy and nutritionally well-balanced meals through their association with St Martins, and that, together with our partnership approach to the business side of the operation, provided a compelling argument when deciding on a catering partner.”

The school, which prides itself on its imaginative and creative approach to learning, was also enamoured with Pabulum’s Healthy Bunch characters and engaging programme of marketing activities. Head teacher, Sally Taggart, said: “It’s important for the children to buy into everything that goes on in the school and the Healthy Bunch offers a fun, exciting and engaging way to help them learn about the benefits of healthy eating and at the same

time encouraging them to try something new. The Pabulum team is full of bright ideas to help us make mealtimes more interesting and their hands on approach is very refreshing. We’re looking forward to April with great relish.”

Pabulum will use their base at Willowbrook to deliver a meal service to two other schools in Hutton – St Joseph’s the Worker Catholic Primary School and Wind in the Willows Pre-School. “This is an exciting new contract for us, especially as it means we can provide support to three schools from a local base,” said Ciraulo. “Children from Hutton who then move on to St Martins Secondary School will enjoy a consistent school meal service from Pabulum throughout their school lives, and it’s very satisfying to think that we will have had a positive, healthy influence on so many lives.”
