Polyteck wins at The Royal Exchange

Construction and facilities management business, Polyteck Group, has won a mechanical & engineering (M&E) contract at the prestigious Royal Exchange in the City of London.

The one-year deal further cements Polyteck’s long standing partnership with managing agent Metrus Limited, which oversees the management of The Royal Exchange.

As part of the contract, Polyteck will deliver a range of services at the Grade I listed building, including black building tests, security and building management systems, fire services, fall arrest systems, and water sampling for TVC and legionella.

Polyteck will also be responsible for maintaining emergency lighting, generators, air handling units (AHU), fan coil units (FCU), chillers, sanitary ware, boilers, tap temperatures, and drainage (float and pan lines).

The Royal Exchange was founded by Thomas Gresham in the 16th century as a centre of commerce for the City of London. Built in 1844, the current structure is today home to a Courtyard Grand Cafe, Threadneedle Cocktail Bar, Sauterelle Restaurant, luxury shops, and offices.

Neil Wheadon, Facilities Management Operations Director, Polyteck, said: “Polyteck has enjoyed a long and successful business partnership with Metrus and we are thrilled to add the Royal Exchange to our thriving portfolio.

“This contract is another fantastic heritage site and adds to the work we already do at similar sites in London such as the Burlington Arcade. We look forward to bringing our expertise to this iconic building right in the heart of London’s financial district.”
