Property Solutions publishes latest service charge research

Property Solutions, a commercial service charge consultancy practice, and part of Bellrock Group, has launched its SCOR for Retail annual report.

Now in its seventh year, the report evaluates both service charge costs and compliance with the RICS Code of Practice, and serves as a useful reference for tenants and landlords alike.

This year’s report highlights the increase in service charges for shopping centres, along with “pockets of best practice” as far as compliance with the RICS Code of Practice is concerned.

Andrew Morley, Managing Director of Property Solutions said, “This year the report is of particular interest to tenants and landlords alike being a barometer of compliance with the RICS Code of Practice for service charge.  2018 will see the advent of the Code as a RICS Professional Statement, making it a mandatory requirement of RICS membership.” 

The report is produced from data provided to Property Solutions by a diverse group of contributors. Academic oversight of the research is provided by Dr Andrew Holt, Professor of Accounting at MSU Denver.
