Reconomy continues on acquisition trail

Outsourced waste management and recycling services provider, Reconomy, has acquired Gosport-based waste management company, Nationwide Services Group (NSG) as well as a boutique packaging compliance consultancy.

NSG, founded in 1992, has built key relationships in the construction, fit-out, retail and commercial sectors and was one of the first outsourced service companies to offer tool and plant hire via a network of service providers.

Following the acquisition of Advanced Waste Solutions (AWS), this makes it three in the space of three weeks as part of Reconomy’s ambitious growth plans in developing the group for the future, with the aim of strengthening its offer across all key sectors and continuously improving the customer experience.

Chief Executive of Reconomy, Paul Cox, said: “We’re delighted to welcome NSG, AWS and our new consultancy business into the Reconomy group. The additional tool and plant hire capability means we can offer an even broader range of products and services to our customers. This promises to be an exciting end to 2019 and, as ever, is testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole Reconomy team”

Paul Smith, Managing Director of Nationwide Services, said: We are very excited to be joining the Reconomy group, a move that we believe offers significant opportunities for the future development of NSG, our customers and our people. Our strengths are complimentary, meaning that both companies as well as our customers will benefit”

Combined with organic growth, Reconomy’s overall group turnover is now forecast to be in excess of £330 million at the end of 2019.
