Ahead of World Workplace next week RICS and IFMA are updating their successful Raising the Bar report from 2012.
Four years ago research revealed that the average FM spent less than one day a week planning and working on strategy. That survey drew on responses from over 400 professionals across six continents and 40 countries as well as direct interviews with FM and Corporate Real Estate executives to provide detailed insights into the management of FM.
With the recently announced collaboration between RICS and IFMA these findings are set to be updated with another survey which can be found here:
Paul Bagust, RICS’ director, UK Commercial Property Professional Group commented:
“The Raising the Bar report in 2012 was ground breaking in its consideration of what being strategic really means for facilities managers. RICS and IFMA see this follow up report a vital tool providing global recognition for FMs of all educational backgrounds, skills, work experiences and career goals. These efforts serve to raise the profile of FM, giving a greater voice and increased status to the profession to shape the future of the built environment and enable business success”
