Sector recruitment specialists celebrate 30 Years 

Thorn Baker Group marks milestone anniversary with launch of new brand identity, websites and group structure to better serve its clients and candidates within the Estates and Facilities Management industry.  

Estates and Facilities Management sector recruitment specialists, Thorn Baker Group, is marking its 30th birthday this month, with celebrations taking place at its offices across the UK. 

Following a period of consistent growth, Thorn Baker Group now manages the recruitment needs of companies across the UK, placing over 1,000 candidates in estates and facilities management jobs each year. 

In addition to the delicious cake and bubbles, essential elements of any special birthday celebrations, Thorn Baker Group has also commemorated its 30th anniversary with significant investment in the business and plans to recruit additional staff to ensure the company continues to thrive for another three decades and beyond.

Paul Jackman, Chief Executive, explains: “Anniversaries always prompt people to reflect on their progress and analyse where they see themselves in the future, as we have now done with the company. We wanted to be fit for the future and to provide an improved service to our candidates and clients.”

The strategic review has resulted in the creation of a new brand identity, brand specific websites and group structure which will enable the firm to service the specific needs of its clients and candidates within the estates and facilities management sector.

Launch of New Group Structure
This investment in the business has been part of an ambitious plan to move Thorn Baker Group to an organisational structure focussed on its market sectors. The company has changed from a multi sector recruitment business with divisions to a group with three distinct brands within it, each responsible for its three core markets – Thorn Baker Construction, Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment and Thorn Baker Estates, Facilities & Maintenance.

The new company structure will enable each brand to solely focus on serving the clients and candidates within its market, thereby providing a more specialist service to firms in the estates and facilities management sector. Each brand will be more independent and flexible, enabling it to respond to the specific needs of each sector, such as having opening hours, working practices and industry training that is more relevant to its clients and candidates. 

Paul Jackman adds: “Creating three specialist brands will help us to deliver a more tailored and effective service. By developing staff as experts in their defined sector, their knowledge of the market, its firms and its candidates, will ensure that clients are receiving in-depth and targeted support to meet their recruitment needs.

“This expertise will also benefit candidates as our focused recruitment will help to ensure a good match with a future employer so they’ll come to us knowing that we will secure them a position for which they are best suited.”

A New Look for The Group
To support the remodelled structure, Thorn Baker Group have launched a new brand identity along with a dedicated website for each brand. Whilst the websites and branding communicate and reflect the new group structure, most importantly, they also make it easier for people trying to find a job!

Each brand within the group has its own specific website, tailored to the requirements of its sector. Each website has its own job search function and places candidates directly with a recruiter at the start of their job search, making the process as well-supported and easy as possible for candidates.

Paul Jackman comments: “Ultimately, the purpose of our investment in the business has been to continue to offer excellent service to clients and candidates and the critical part of that is ensuring the right candidates are working with the right clients. Our new websites provide improved sector specific functionality in advertising available jobs and helping candidates to secure work.”
