Following the catastrophic fire that ravaged France’s 850-year-old Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on Monday, Sodexo has pledged to offer one million meals to the artisans, vocational trade workers and associations that will support the reconstruction of this emblematic symbol of French cultural heritage, known world-wide.

Denis Machuel, Chief Executive Officer, Sodexo said: “With our employees, we are dedicated to serving the women and men who will devote themselves to rebuilding Notre-Dame.

“Contributing each day to their invaluable efforts is our way to join the impressive collective momentum that brings us together.”

The fire affected two-thirds of the Cathedral’s roof and completely destroyed the Cathedral’s spire. Committed to rebuilding the Cathedral, the French Government is now inviting architects from across the globe to submit designs for a new spire.
