Sodexo retains catering university deal and adds new business

Sodexo has been awarded the catering contract with City, University of London for a further three years with the potential to extend up to five. The new agreement also sees the catering services for Cass Business School added.

Sodexo has been the University’s catering partner since 2014 providing services at the main Northampton Square campus in Clerkenwell, London.

Earlier this year Sodexo opened a Crussh outlet in the University’s main building in Northampton Square in London serving a wide range of Crussh’s healthy food and drinks throughout the day, Monday to Friday.

As part of the new contract Sodexo will be relaunching the main restaurant with new offers including its Planted! street food offer, featuring Oumph!, a 100 per cent plant based meat alternative made from soybeans, salt, water; and Dough & Go pizza. Starbucks coffee will be available from the University’s Courtyard Café.

The innovative social enterprise Change Please will remain at the university. Change Please provides support for the homeless with every cup of coffee they sell. The social enterprise is empowering the homeless community by providing them with full barista training, jobs paying London Living Wage and support with housing, bank accounts and mental wellbeing.

Sodexo will also be introducing kiosk ordering points specifically for Dough & Go pizzas and its Yardbird chicken offer to help alleviate long queues at peak times of these popular meal choices.

The new contract will also see Sodexo extend its services to Cass Business School’s Bunhill Row and Aldersgate sites where it will implement an offer which has been specifically designed to cater for the needs of the business school students, staff and visitors. This will include street food-style menus and cuisines from around the world.

The School is among the global elite and is consistently ranked amongst the best business schools and programmes in the world.
