SPIE awarded fire and security services deal

SPIE UK has been awarded a fire and security reactive maintenance and serving framework contract by Triangle Housing Association, a major provider of supported living, resettlement accommodation and support for people leaving hospitals in Northern Ireland.

Under the terms of the deal, SPIE UK will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of fire safety equipment. This includes fire alarm systems, domestic smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, emergency lighting, firefighting equipment, smoke vents, door access controls, nurse call systems, warden call systems and other specialist fire safety equipment in accordance with Fire Safety Regulations. On top of this, SPIE will provide a 24-hour reactive response and repairs service across all of Triangle Housing’s properties.

The Triangle Housing Association has a wide and varied portfolio of over 1,000 properties across Northern Ireland, providing an increasing number of family homes as well as hostels, sheltered housing and commercial premises. SPIE UK was chosen due to the team’s ability to deliver exceptional quality whilst also meeting Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) criteria defined in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

The framework contract has been signed for an initial 36 months, with the option to extend it by a further 36 months if both parties agree to.

Jim Skivington, a Divisional Managing Director at SPIE UK, said: “We are delighted that Triangle Housing Association has given SPIE UK the responsibility of maintaining the fire and security equipment and systems across its estate. Our highly skilled team takes its responsibility to Triangle Housing and its tenants very seriously and we look forward to a productive future working relationship.”

Andrew Fleming, Property Assets Manager at Triangle Housing Association, added: “As a customer focused organisation, the safety of our tenants is of prime importance. We feel confident that SPIE UK will help to guarantee that safety over our large and varied estate and support our vision of building better lives together.”

Waste Management and Recycling Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management have launched the 2022 survey into how FMs approach their waste management and recycling responsibilities.

It’s the fifth year for the annual appraisal, and as we return to normal, there is a real opportunity for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and look at new, smarter waste management strategies.

In order to understand how FMs have navigated their way through the last year and their plans for meeting stringent waste and recycling targets we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, such as zero waste and landfill, the types of waste organisations produce and what helps FMs promote waste management in their organisations?

Please share your experiences and opinions on waste management. The survey will take just five minutes to complete, and as a thank you for taking part, respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 Amazon gift card.
