The Clean Space acquires Abelian UK

Commercial cleaning company, The Clean Space, whose clients include the NHS, Just Eat and The Old Vic, has acquired London-based cleaning firm, Abelian UK Ltd as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans.

The combined organisation will significantly increase resources and capabilities for The Clean Space, allowing the business to compete more effectively and profitably in London and the Southeast.

Commenting on the acquisition, Charlie Mowat, CEO of The Clean Space said: “We’re delighted by this major acquisition. We chose Abelian because of the excellent synergy between the two companies, and because of the clear similarities in our customer base, both by locations and sectors.

“We’re excited to be able to offer Abelian’s existing customer base further services to bolster their cleaning initiatives, such as our all natural, probiotic cleaning solutions.

We saw a great fit with Abelian and are excited to be creating one, larger and even stronger team.”

With over 19 years’ experience in the sector, The Clean Space now employs over 550 cleaners and 25 head office staff to deliver commercial cleaning services to customers nationwide. The move is part of wider plans for further strategic expansion and growth over the next five years.

Waste Management and Recycling Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management have launched the 2022 survey into how FMs approach their waste management and recycling responsibilities.

It’s the fifth year for the annual appraisal, and as we return to normal, there is a real opportunity for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and look at new, smarter waste management strategies.

In order to understand how FMs have navigated their way through the last year and their plans for meeting stringent waste and recycling targets we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, such as zero waste and landfill, the types of waste organisations produce and what helps FMs promote waste management in their organisations?

Please share your experiences and opinions on waste management. The survey will take just five minutes to complete, and as a thank you for taking part, respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 Amazon gift card.
