This event will highlight best practice and excellence in delivering FM services with an award for the overall winner and announcement of the top quartile of UK FM providers.
Only noticed when an activity is incomplete, the FM sector’s role in the smooth delivery of buildings remains a largely untapped reserve of sustainability initiatives as clients and investors continue to make decisions as informed by economic, social, and environmental sustainability issues that may impact their own CSR agenda(s). Managed proactively, a sustainable FM service can reduce costs and provide long term value as quite often, delivering resource efficiencies, reduced corporate risks and improved employee wellbeing.
The Sustainable FM Index is the only assessment that establishes a 360o sustainability perspective of the FM sector. The assessment offers clarity to FM providers, clients, and their own supply chains as it showcases how each are not just adding value, but creating innovative benefits through their provision of FM services.
Developed as a framework, the Index provides a robust and transparent assessment to compare FM providers within the UK market. The results are compiled annually, and can be applied to internal and outsourced organisations. The intent of the Index is to raise the performance and delivery of sustainability by showcasing achievement and highlighting excellence. It is also stimulating positive change within the sector, through both internal performance and external perception.
About the Sustainable FM Index:
A total of 27 FM organisations are assessed in the 2015 Index, based on a public interest methodology wherein companies are publicly listed, have 25% of turnover in FM services, and are identified under the UK Government contracting model. Companies that meet 2 of the 3 criteria are automatically assessed against 23 sustainability criteria. New additions to this year’s index include scoring against ‘diversity’ and ‘employee development’ as well as evolution in others to reflect how ISO 14001 now conceives risk alongside opportunity, for example.
