Tivoli expands council partnership with new contract award

Tivoli is continuing its 15-year collaboration with Allerdale Borough Council following the award of the Council’s Integrated Street Scene contract, which will see grounds maintenance and street cleansing services merge for the first time.

The grounds maintenance firm has been maintaining a number of the Borough’s public parks, open spaces, play areas, leisure and sports facilities, cemeteries and sheltered dwellings since 2003.

The new eight-year contract, which commenced on 1 April 2019, sees Tivoli, using multi-skilled teams, who will additionally deliver litter picking, fly-tipping, chewing gum removal and the cleansing of all footpaths, highways, road and precincts etc.

Tivoli will also continue to work with local volunteer groups, Town and Parish Councils and Allerdale Borough Council to support community clean-up schemes and other community led events to ensure that Allerdale’s town centres are attractive and welcoming, meet the Council’s priorities, and engage with the local residents.

Charles Holmes, Head of Community Services at Allerdale Borough Council, said: “Allerdale are very much looking forward to this new phase of working in collaboration with Tivoli and the integrated approach that is being taken leading to clean streets and well maintained open spaces across the Borough, as we recognise just how important a clean and green environment contributes towards improving the lives of local people and visitors.”

The contract comes with an option to extend for a further eight years.
