Totalmobile appoints MD of property and FM

Totalmobile, a leading field service management software (FSM) company, has appointed David Webb as Managing Director of its newly created business unit dedicated to help the property and facilities management sectors address specific challenges including service efficiency and compliance, sustainability and service user experience.

Webb brings to the role over 25 years of experience in asset-centric services in companies such as Cognito iQ, where he served as Chief Operating Officer responsible for strategic accounts such as JLL Property Group, Integral and Serco.

Webb’s new role combines two of Totalmobile’s major sectors, facilities management and property services. His responsibilities will include establishing and developing this business unit and ensuring that the company’s customers in these sectors receive the highest standard of service.

As Managing Director, Webb will coordinate the product and service development specific to the property and FM sectors. By applying a greater focus to these areas, Totalmobile will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities these sectors are facing and ultimately provide better, more convenient services for the end-users.

Prior to the company’s acquisition by Totalmobile in March of this year, Webb spent 11 years at Cognito iQ, a mobile workforce management and operational performance analytics company, where he coordinated large, asset-centric operations. As COO, he also oversaw the onboarding and digital transformation of some of the company’s largest clients, including Hermes and its 75,000 mobile workers. Prior to this role, Webb worked for 18 years with Avery Weigh-Tronix, where he was responsible for leading service delivery and budgeting for a £50 million turnover Field Service operation.

Commenting on his new role Webb said: “By dedicating a higher level of focus to the facilities management and property sectors, we are able to gain a more meaningful understanding of the wider market trends and the intricacies within these areas. Inside the housing sector, for example, organisations are feeling the ever-mounting pressure to comply with new sustainability legislation on increasingly shrinking budgets. By focusing on issues such as these, we can create more streamlined and sustainable solutions for our customers, which help them to provide a better, more convenient service for their tenants.”

The announcement of Webb’s new role marks the second appointment following a business restructure at Totalmobile.

Speaking on this, Totalmobile CEO, Jim Darragh said: “We’re focused on the continued progress of our reorganisation, as we rethink how we offer our services to our valued customers. Concentrating our efforts on new strategies that reflect the individuality of each of the markets we serve will enable us to elevate the expertise we are able to share with them. David brings considerable value to our new business plans, with so many years gaining real-world operational experience and implementing technologies to improve operational outcomes, he is the perfect candidate to head up our new property and facilities management department.”
