Wates FM supports Wellcome Genome Campus on journey to net zero

Wates FM has been awarded a five-year deal with the Wellcome Genome Campus to carry out building services maintenance and minor works to the buildings and infrastructure at the pioneering biodata and genomics research campus in Cambridge.

The Wellcome Genome Campus is home to some of the world’s foremost institutes and organisations in genomics and computational biology, committed to delivering life-changing science with the reach, scale, and imagination to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges.Wates has pledged to create opportunities for training and employment in Cambridge, working in partnership with the Wellcome Genome Campus to support the local community.

James Gregg, Managing Director of Wates FM, commented: “We are very proud to have been appointed to deliver building maintenance (M&E) services at the Wellcome Genome Campus. We share many of the same values, especially in the drive towards a net zero carbon future, where Wates Group has committed to be zero waste and zero carbon from our operations by 2025. 

“Throughout the contract, our team will help Wellcome identify innovative products, through the Wates Innovation Network to implement across the campus to aid in their journey towards carbon neutrality.       

“We very much look forward to working in partnership with the excellent team in place, which will now be complemented by our wider support network of technical experts and supporting engineers.”
