WELLBEING For FMs the link between wellbeing and productivity has
never been so important. The brand new co-located show,
Workplace Wellbeing includes a range of speakers who will
share their personal stories on mental health and wellbeing
and explain why health as well as safety is so important for
organisations today.

Mind’s advice following the Thriving at Work review.
Mind’s Chief Executive, Paul Farmer has carried out an
independent review into how employers can better support
the mental health of employees. In this talk his colleague,
Faye McGuinness, will provide an overview of the findings
from the ‘Stevenson/Farmer: Thriving at Work’ review.

WORKPLACE DESIGN AND ITS IMPACT ON PRODUCTIVITY
AND WELLBEING
In this illuminating talk of particular relevance to FMs,
Hannah Nardini, Workplace Consultant & Designer for
WK.space will explore the latest trends in what employees
want from their workplaces, the differences between
generations and different types of worker; how to design
a workplace which positively impacts productivity and
wellbeing; what to avoid and provide examples of leading
projects.
THURSDAY

THE WELLBEING PROFESSIONAL OF THE FUTURE
This session will explore the landscape and projected
direction of the burgeoning wellbeing industry, and where
it intersects health and safety in different organisations
through the eyes of three senior leaders with long-standing
track records in the H&S industry. It will also examine what
type of talent businesses are recruiting to effectively deliver
on wellbeing in the workplace. Speakers include; Jonathan
Gawthrop, Account Director, Emcor UK, Steve Howells,
Group HSSE Director, Ladbrokes Coral Group, Matthew
Rae, Director Safety and Wellbeing, Vodafone and Kendelle
Tekstar, Senior Product Manager, Acre Frameworks.

MATES IN MIND
As reported in FMJ in February, Mates in Mind has been
rolled out across the construction sector by the Health in
Construction Leadership Group (HCLG), with the support
of the British Safety Council. Its aim is to raise awareness,
address the stigma of poor mental health and improve
mental wellbeing in the UK construction industry. Joscelyne
Shaw, Director of Strategy Mates in Mind will explain its
progress.

arm which allows users to adjust their
screen from a conventional eye height
position to flat onto the work surface,
creating an experience almost like
reading a book. Said Garry McKay, MD, ‘We designed Flyt after being approached
by a major government department - they wanted a fully integrated system of
support for regular monitors right through to touchscreens. This included the
requirement to manoeuvre their touchscreen monitors, from a conventional
upright position, down to a 15ᵒ angle touching the working surface.”
