Stand T755
This year the Facilities Show launches a new area dedicated
to the Health & Wellbeing of the workforce. Below we
round up some of the topics being discussed today at the
Occupational Health & Wellbeing Theatre.
Asbestos Assessment
The British Occupational Hygiene Society’s (BOHS’) new
Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management (FAAM)
was launched at the end of last year. At 10.45, Colette
Willoughby, Asbestos Qualifications Technical Advisor at
BOHS will explain FAAM’s vision to establish, develop and
maintain standards of competence in asbestos assessment
and management practice for its members, and act as
the guardian of professional standards and ethics in the
profession of asbestos assessment and management.
Santander case study
Beginning at 13:10, Kevin Hill, Group Health and Safety
Manager, Santander and Dave Moore, Head of Health,
Safety and Wellbeing at Santander will explain the
strategic, tactical and operational approach which has been
adopted by the bank to promote the benefits of positive
psychological wellbeing and support colleagues during
challenging times.
What’s wellbeing?
It’s o en the ‘so and flu y’ side of wellbeing which is
the focus of interventions and whilst such interventions
are beneficial to individuals, they’re unlikely to result in
long-term sustainable organisational e ects. From 14:30
- 15:00 Dr Carolyn Yeoman PhD MSc BSc (Hons) MBPsS,
Organisational Psychologist and Operations Director at
OCAID Wellbeing will suggest organisations need to address
wellbeing in the same way as they address safety.
Changing the Tide
Bazalgette Tunnel, will operate the Thames Tideway
Tunnel, known to the public as ‘Tideway’. One of its key
objectives is to raise standards and performance in health,
safety and wellbeing; and from 13:50 - 14:20, Steve Cro s
its Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing will describe
the introduction of a pioneering approach to assessing
communication around health and safety.
