Hills wins waste and recycling deal at New College Swindon

Swindon-based Hills Waste Solutions has been appointed waste and recycling contractor at New College Swindon.

The three-year deal was awarded following a competitive tender process.

To mobilise the contract a range of new bins and containers have been delivered to the North Star and Queens Drive campuses, including skips and rear end loaders through to internal bins to help segregate recycling and food waste bins to support the training kitchen.

The facilities team at the college will also benefit from access to Hills’ customer portal which provides real time data on recycling, recovery and reuse rates.

Commenting on the new contract award, Darren John, Sales Manager at Hills Waste Solutions said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our tender for the New College Swindon contract. Having beaten national businesses in the tender process, it’s a fantastic local business success story. This deal brings two of Swindon’s most respected organisations together in a working partnership.”

Daniel Bedford, Director of Estates and Facilities at New College Swindon said: “We were impressed with Hills’ hands-on, partnership approach – which includes a dedicated account manager, open access to recycling data, and the social value they can add with work experience opportunities for some of our students. Working with a Swindon based business also helps us to reduce the carbon impact of waste and recycling operations, so it’s great to have Hills on board.”
