Mecsia, a national leader in compliance-led technical inspection, testing and maintenance services has acquired The Drain Group (TDG), a respected drainage specialist operating across the West Midlands and includes Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, and Birmingham Drain Services.
The completed strategic acquisition immediately expands Mecsia’s national footprint and commitment to direct, high-quality service self-delivery. The addition of TDG grows the combined Group’s employees to over 1,270 people and raises the annual turnover to £230 million, cementing Mecsia’s position as a major force in essential technical and compliance services.
TDG’s skilled teams, leadership, and trusted brand will remain in place. The business will continue to operate independently from its centrally located head office in Birmingham, with no disruption to services, contracts, or primary contacts.
Jon Coiley, CEO of Mecsia, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome The Drain Group and their excellent team of people to Mecsia. We remain committed to expanding our footprint across the UK and to increase self-delivery of specialist services wherever possible. The team in Birmingham has an enviable reputation for quality and speed of response. We are all looking forward to developing this new group drainage service offering in the months ahead.”
Tony Buchanan, Managing Director at TDG, commented: “We’re so proud of everything The Drain Group has achieved over the years since Tina and I started the business back in 2008. Joining Mecsia is the next natural step for us — it means we can keep growing, invest more in our people, and give even more back to our customers. The most important thing is nothing changes when it comes to the way we work, our values, or the service we are known for. This is an exciting new chapter built on trust, respect, and a shared ambition for the future”
