The workplace and facilities management industry came together last night to celebrate the winners of this year’s IWFM Impact Awards.
Twenty-two winners have been recognised by the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) for their outstanding contribution to workplace and facilities management. Awards categories covered all aspects of the profession, from outstanding individual contributions and game-changing environmental projects, to initiatives designed to change the perception of the growing workplace and facilities sector or to boost EDI.
Celebrating the 25th edition of the IWFM Awards, newly elected Chair of the Institute, Andrew Hulbert, reflected on the growing importance of the facilities profession in his opening remarks, where he talked about the impact that a strong FM sector can deliver.
Hulbert said: “The work we do matters. The work we do drives value – value that changes lives and communities… Everyone in this room feels that. We live it every day. And if all those countless industries that we operate in are going to thrive in the future, then we are the people who will make it possible.”
Chair of judges, Mark Griffiths, also paid tribute to this year’s winners, as well as to his colleagues on the judging panel as he stepped away from the role after four years. He is succeeded as Chair by his Deputy, Sarah Hodge, known to many as one of the profession’s most respected leaders.
Hodge said: “I’ve been involved in the IWFM Impact Awards since their inception and thrilled to be stepping into the role of Chair of Judges. I am passionate about the impact FM can have in organisations and ardent about the role this accessible and brilliant profession can play in supporting wider social mobility. I am determined to ensure these Awards continue to celebrate excellence, showcase impact and shine a light on workplace and FM as an amazing career – whatever the starting point.”

The way we work has changed – yet, many organisations are still relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all tools to manage desks and meeting rooms, according to a new study from workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking.
Spreadsheets, calendars, and generic booking software may have worked once, but they’re struggling to keep pace with today’s flexible, hybrid workforce. The result? Wasted time, frustrated employees, and expensive underutilised space.
Matrix Booking’s new study, ‘One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work for today’s workforce’, explores why current systems are falling short – and how organisations can reimagine workspace management to boost efficiency, employee experience, and cost savings.
