Affinity Water has awarded United Infrastructure a £30 million contract on its £450 million AMP8 Capital Framework.
United Infrastructure, a leading provider of solutions for the UK’s critical infrastructure, is one of five companies awarded a long-term framework up to 10 years in duration.
Affinity Water’s service area comprises 3.9 million people across parts of London, eastern and southeast England. The AMP8 programme until 2030 focuses on sustainable, efficient water management to meet the region’s growing demand.
The design and build capital works framework will see United Infrastructure deliver critical infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
Since July 2025, work began across the distribution mains renewals programme of works. Further activities planned include distribution mains renewals, network reinforcement, commissioning and optimisation of new and existing water mains, as well as essential upgrades to water treatment process plants and replacement of booster pumping stations.
Scott Beard, Director of Water, United Infrastructure, said: “We are looking forward to working collaboratively with Affinity Water on this ambitious and transformative AMP8 programme. United Infrastructure’s expertise in engineering, project management, and innovative solutions will play a key role in enhancing water network resilience and efficiency across the region.”
Ben Hayward, Head of Capital Delivery at Affinity Water, added: “We are pleased to have awarded five new contracts and to be working with our delivery partners: United Infrastructure, Barhale, Galliford Try, J Browne and Enisca over the next five years and beyond.
“Together, we face a huge challenge to deliver for our customers, but by working collaboratively with our trusted partners, we will ensure we meet those expectations and deliver on our commitments in AMP8 and into the future.”
The way we work has changed – yet, many organisations are still relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all tools to manage desks and meeting rooms, according to a new study from workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking.
Spreadsheets, calendars, and generic booking software may have worked once, but they’re struggling to keep pace with today’s flexible, hybrid workforce. The result? Wasted time, frustrated employees, and expensive underutilised space.
Matrix Booking’s new study, ‘One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work for today’s workforce’, explores why current systems are falling short – and how organisations can reimagine workspace management to boost efficiency, employee experience, and cost savings.
