Join the SFMI Awards & Report Launch webinar: Exclusive insights into sustainability trends in FM

The Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI) has announced its annual Awards & Report Launch webinar, will be taking place on Thursday 27th November at 9:30am.

This year, the SFMI’s community of partners participated in the only ESG assessment of its kind within the FM sector, and the upcoming report and webinar will unveil exclusive trends, insights, and practical next steps that organisations can use to enhance their own sustainability performance and deliver greater value.

Last year marked a significant milestone for the FM industry as leaders reached the point where sustainability really pays – where sustainability initiatives started to deliver substantial value internally and significant revenue opportunities externally. The 2024 SFMI Report celebrated efforts in bringing new service offerings to market that support decarbonisation, in capitalising on wellbeing efforts for higher staff retention and customer rewards, in realising commercial value through social value activities and turning risks into financial rewards.

While FM’s are making progress, major shifts including the CSRD omnibus, climate backpedalling on commitments, and regulatory changes in the US, makes now a crucial time for FMs to move from plans to action. Many organisations have set ambitious goals and targets but lack the capabilities to fully achieve them. The report explores how the sector can leverage technology, draw on learnings from other sectors, and adopt a strategic focus to turn sustainability plans into tangible impact.

The report focuses on specific trends across four key themes: Decarbonisation, Wellbeing, Social Value, and Risks & Opportunities.

In addition, the Overall Winner and Rising Star awards will be announced, offering the perfect opportunity for partners to celebrate their achievements with peers.

Workspace management: One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work anymore

The way we work has changed – yet, many organisations are still relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all tools to manage desks and meeting rooms, according to a new study from workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking.

Spreadsheets, calendars, and generic booking software may have worked once, but they’re struggling to keep pace with today’s flexible, hybrid workforce. The result? Wasted time, frustrated employees, and expensive underutilised space.

Matrix Booking’s new study, ‘One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work for today’s workforce’, explores why current systems are falling short – and how organisations can reimagine workspace management to boost efficiency, employee experience, and cost savings.
