Cardo Group enters into exclusive agreement to acquire assets of Gunfire

Cardo Group, a leading provider of building maintenance and improvement services to social housing providers and public bodies, has entered into an exclusive agreement to acquire assets of Gunfire – a specialist provider of passive fire protection services headquartered in Cambridgeshire.

The agreement provides Cardo with exclusive rights to complete the asset purchase of the Gunfire operations and, upon completion, will strengthen Cardo’s fire protection and compliance capabilities, broadening its service offering across a wider geographic footprint and supporting continued growth in building safety services for residential, commercial, and public sector clients.

With more than 25 years’ experience, Gunfire operates nationally through one of the largest field-based compliance teams in the fire-stopping industry and is a trusted provider of passive fire protection services, delivering specialist solutions for some of the UK’s most complex buildings.

Tom Laws, Managing Director at Gunfire, said: “This is a really positive step for Gunfire. Cardo provides the perfect platform for our business to continue to grow, support investment in our people and expand our reach, while building on the high standards and specialist expertise our clients rely on.

“We’re proud of what we’ve built over the past 25 years, and joining Cardo creates new opportunities to strengthen our offering and deliver even greater value to clients.”

Liam Bevan, CEO of Cardo Group, said: “Gunfire is a highly respected name in passive fire protection, with a proven track record and deep technical expertise.

“Bringing their capabilities into Cardo expands our in-house fire safety services and supports our services across building safety and compliance.

“This acquisition allows us to expand our specialist teams and continue investing in the services our clients need, now and in the future.”

E.ON and FMJ webinar: Moving from a reactive service to proactive services: Identifying energy issues early and automatically

Wednesday 14 January at 11:00am

Building Management Systems (BMS) have long been used to control the heart of a building – monitoring and controlling its essential systems such as lighting, ventilation, heating and air conditioning. Facilities Managers want the best visibility to help detect and deal with concerns before they become issues.

This webinar brings together the experts from energy network provider, E.ON along with FM thought leaders to discuss moving from a reactive service to a proactive service. By identifying energy issues early and automatically, instead of occupants reporting issues, then potential faults can be identified early and remedied. The BMS does this before the problem occurs by using smart alerting and EMC support services.

Panel:

  • Sara Bean: Editor FMJ (Facilities Management Journal)
  • Nick Westlake: Energy and Service Delivery Manager at E.ON Control Solutions
  • Sunil Shah, the author of IWFM’s Energy Management Good Practice Guide and MD of Acclaro Advisory
  • David Cermak, Regional Facilities Manager for David Lloyd Clubs
