EMCOR UK has been named winner of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2025 Facilities Management Sector Award. The facilities management services provider also won an Order of Distinction for its 18th consecutive Gold Achievement Award with AWE and won six Gold Awards.
RoSPA introduced individual Industry Sector Awards in 1993 to acknowledge outstanding health and safety achievements, tailored to the specific challenges of individual sectors. EMCOR UK won the Facilities Management RoSPA for demonstrating its robust and high-quality safety management system.
Building on the legacy of last year’s Sir George Earle Trophy award, EMCOR UK evidenced continued improvement across its service areas, from technical process safety in critical national infrastructure to the proactive management of occupational psychosocial hazards. It provided quantitative evidence to show over four years of consistent excellence and improvement of its health and safety performance.
Now in its 69th year, and with almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, covering over seven million employees, the RoSPA Awards are the world’s largest health and safety awards programme, recognising those organisations and individuals who have set the highest standards in accident prevention.
EMCOR UK was highly commended for the Water Sector Award and won its 18th consecutive Gold Achievement Award for its partnership with Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), earning it an Order of Distinction for the second year running.
Alongside this win, EMCOR UK also won for the following customer partnerships:
- British Sugar – Gold Achievement Award
- Anglian Water – Gold Medal Achievement Award (7 consecutive golds)
- Department of Health and Social Care – Gold Achievement Award
- GSK – Gold Achievement Award
- RSA – Gold Achievement Award
- Thames Water – Gold Medal Achievement Award (9 consecutive golds)
Cheryl McCall, CEO at EMCOR UK, said: “I am immensely proud that EMCOR UK has been recognised with this prestigious RoSPA award for the third year in a row. Our continued Gold Award wins and second Order of Distinction for our AWE partnership highlight the strength of our longstanding customer relationships. Preventing accidents is about more than compliance; it’s about our employees’ wellbeing and protecting their lives so everyone gets home safely every day. These awards reflect our team’s continuous dedication to creating safe, healthy environments for our people, suppliers and customers alike.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “EMCOR UK should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in these RoSPA Awards, which honour those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.
“RoSPA regards EMCOR UK as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.”
