According to a recent McKinsey report, software solutions are emerging as enablers to meet net zero goals, with energy management systems (EMS), which allow users to monitor and optimise energy use in buildings and industrial processes playing a pivotal role.
Commercial EMS (CEMS) help optimise energy consumption within commercial buildings, ensuring efficient lighting, heating, cooling, and equipment operations. By centralising energy data, they enable building operators to monitor and control energy use, contributing to sustainability goals and reducing costs. EMS can also be integrated into asset management systems, allowing for remote optimisation.
McKinsey predicts the global market for EMS across industrial, commercial, and residential applications (excluding grid applications) could reach approximately $116 billion by 2030. As energy demand increases the world over and climate targets continue to evolve, the energy management software market is also poised to grow significantly.
FMJ, in conjunction with E.ON will be holding a webinar at 11am on Wednesday 14th January, Moving from a reactive service to proactive services: Identifying energy issues early and automatically. Join us to hear an expert panel explore the role of the EMS in transforming the performance of building management systems (BMS) by identifying energy issues early and automatically.
