As demand for flexible and sustainable workplaces grows, Pamela D’Alessandro has been promoted to a newly created Design Director role at workplace design and build company, Interaction, to oversee the firm’s creative vision and strategy.
D’Alessandro joined Interaction’s design team in 2020, having previously worked for international architecture and design practices in London including HLW. She has played a key role in delivering future-proof workplaces for Interaction’s clients, including leading flexible office operators and law firms, that foster wellbeing and collaboration.
Her recent projects include FOUNDRY’s new coworking hub in East Sussex which is part of the flagship Hove Gardens development. Accommodating up to 300 coworkers, the state-of-the-art office facilities include private offices, soundproof booths, breakout spaces and wellness suites.
D’Alessandro began her interior design career in 2013 with a leading design agency in her native Canada where she worked on high-profile projects including The Mall of America. After moving to Europe, she specialised in high-end workspaces for fintech and financial services clients, becoming an expert in agile workspaces for clients including Google and its London Incubator Hub, Warner Bros and Pernod Ricard.
In her new role as Interaction’s Design Director, D’Alessandro will be responsible for developing Interaction’s award-winning design team, ensuring the firm continues to provide innovative design solutions to the evolving workplace challenges that businesses face.
Commenting on her new appointment, D’Alessandro said: “We have such a talented and creative group of designers here at Interaction who care passionately about what they do and are obsessed with detail – not only from a design perspective but also from a technical and sustainability point of view.
“I’m proud to have been given the job of leading this exceptional team as we deliver ever larger and more complex national projects. Diversification and expansion into other sectors will be key elements of our future growth strategy.”
Dieter Wood, Interaction’s CEO, said: “Pamela has been an integral part of our design team for nearly five years, and has demonstrated outstanding creativity, commitment and leadership. So, she’s a perfect fit for the newly created role of design director.
“She’ll be bringing her considerable design knowledge and experience to this important role, helping us capitalise on the growing demand for high-quality, flexible and people-first workspaces across the UK.”
The way we work has changed – yet, many organisations are still relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all tools to manage desks and meeting rooms, according to a new study from workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking.
Spreadsheets, calendars, and generic booking software may have worked once, but they’re struggling to keep pace with today’s flexible, hybrid workforce. The result? Wasted time, frustrated employees, and expensive underutilised space.
Matrix Booking’s new study, ‘One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work for today’s workforce’, explores why current systems are falling short – and how organisations can reimagine workspace management to boost efficiency, employee experience, and cost savings.
