Pennington Choices joins Mears Group

Mears Group, a leading provider of services to the housing sector, has strengthened its building services and compliance offering with the acquisition of property surveying and consultancy, Pennington Choices Limited.

The Warrington-based property consultancy is well-established with 25 years’ experience in the social housing sector, delivering a wide range of professional and technical services including fire safety, asbestos management and stock condition surveys, project management, and housing consultancy services across England, Scotland and Wales.

The acquisition says Mears builds a “best-in-class compliance offering” by aligning professional insight with technical delivery and structured reporting. One that not only meets current demand but also opens a procurement pathway toward Total Asset Management, where risk, compliance, and investment are managed through a single partner.

Lucas Critchley Chief Executive Officer, Mears Group said: “I am delighted to welcome Pennington Choices to the Group. This collaboration will leverage our complementary strengths and set a shared vision for the future in the compliance space.

“The technical consultancy and compliance expertise of Pennington Choices complements our own national delivery capability, ultimately enabling us to bring to market a joint offering – an end-to-end compliance solution – from asset data capture and risk assessment through to remedial works and ongoing assurance.”

Mark Seaborn, Managing Director, Pennington Choices added: “This move secures a strong, long-term future for the business I have dedicated the past 25 years to building and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for everyone connected with Pennington Choices.”

The completion of the acquisition will see Pennington Choices become part of the Mears Group while retaining its leadership, brand, colleagues and client base.
