SGC Security Services strengthens commercial leadership with industry veteran

Simon Anderson has been appointed to the role of Commercial Director at SGC Security Services, a leading UK security provider and an SIA Approved Contractor Scheme accredited company.

Anderson brings over 30 years of exceptional experience in the security and facilities management sector, with a proven track record of driving commercial success across some of the industry’s most respected organisations. Most recently, he served as Divisional Sales Director at OCS Group, and prior to that held senior commercial leadership roles at Atalian Servest UK & Ireland, where he spent nearly a decade as Business Development Director – Security and Divisional Sales Director.

Paul Macarthur, Founder and CEO of SGC Security Services, said of the appointment: “Simon’s extensive sector knowledge, strategic approach to client partnerships, and commitment to service excellence align perfectly with SGC’s values and ambitious growth plans. His appointment strengthens our commercial capability as we continue to expand our presence across NHS, logistics, corporate, and events sectors.”

Anderson took up his new role on 1 November. He said: “I have known Paul and the company for many years and always admired their professionalism and commitment in delivering the highest possible standards. Put this together with a drive to make a difference, challenging convention and the agility to deliver complex security solutions – I very much wanted to be part of this journey.”

Reflecting on SGC’s commitment to Excellence as Standard, Anderson emphasised: “The biggest challenge that we face is ensuring that we not only set the standards for our brand but also for the security industry. We must ensure that our operational model gives each security officer the best support, training and equipment to maximise the investment made and to provide a secure and safe environment for all. The everyday challenge of monitoring service levels, supporting our front-line colleagues and continually striving to be the best must be at the forefront of everything that we do.”

Workspace management: One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work anymore

The way we work has changed – yet, many organisations are still relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all tools to manage desks and meeting rooms, according to a new study from workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking.

Spreadsheets, calendars, and generic booking software may have worked once, but they’re struggling to keep pace with today’s flexible, hybrid workforce. The result? Wasted time, frustrated employees, and expensive underutilised space.

Matrix Booking’s new study, ‘One-size-fits-all booking systems don’t work for today’s workforce’, explores why current systems are falling short – and how organisations can reimagine workspace management to boost efficiency, employee experience, and cost savings.
