Jason Smithies, an expert on social housing repairs and maintenance has been appointed as Head of Operations for Scotland and the Northeast at Novus Property Solutions.
Smithies brings to the national maintenance and decarbonisation contractor more than two decades of experience in the sector having started his career as a Tenant Liaison Officer 22 years ago. Since then, Smithies has held a number of operational positions within the structure of the industry including Project Director and Head of Operations, leading large teams to deliver high value client projects including Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) retrofit work.
This vast experience in operational roles in social housing and specifically decarbonisation will be invaluable for Novus as the contractor continues to grow its presence in the housing sector across Great Britain. Within his role at Novus, Smithies will be responsible for all planned works and repairs and maintenance contracts within the Scotland and Northeast region, including operational and commercial performance, health and safety, client and resident satisfaction, business development, and social value.
