United Infrastructure’s Connected business has secured a major new framework with digital infrastructure service provider, Cornerstone.
A leading provider of solutions for the UK’s critical infrastructure, United Infrastructure will become the sole provider of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across more than 16,000 telecoms sites nationwide, including Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands and Islands. The telecoms estate underpins mobile connectivity for millions of people, businesses and essential public services across urban, rural and hard-to-reach areas.
The framework commences in May 2026 and will see United Infrastructure working closely with Cornerstone to drive greater operational efficiency, enhancing visibility, streamlining reporting and refining milestone tracking across the network, while upholding Cornerstone’s industry-leading standards for health, safety and secure site access across its telecoms estate.
United Infrastructure has also committed to creating new apprenticeship roles across both field and office-based functions, investing in future generations and developing talent within the telecoms industry.
Andy Train, Chief Network Officer at Cornerstone, said: “Safety, resilience, quality and assurance were central to our decision-making. United Infrastructure demonstrated clear alignment with our safety-first culture and the operational discipline required to maintain the UK’s largest passive infrastructure network, enable 5G rollout and enhance future connectivity ambitions.
“This framework cements a foundational part of our strategy to maintain and enhance the UK’s critical national infrastructure and is central to how we protect our people, our customers, our partners, our landlords and the communities our sites serve, every day.”
Scott MacGregor, Managing Director, Connected at United Infrastructure, said: “We are extremely proud to have been selected by Cornerstone as their sole partner for this UK-wide maintenance programme. This framework reflects the strength of our business and our shared commitment to ensuring the reliability, resilience and future-readiness of the nation’s digital infrastructure.
“We look forward to working collaboratively with Cornerstone to enhance their network through smarter reporting, streamlined delivery and a focus on sustainable, long-term asset performance.”

Building Management Systems (BMS) have long been used to control the heart of a building – monitoring and controlling its essential systems such as lighting, ventilation, heating and air conditioning. Facilities Managers want the best visibility to help detect and deal with concerns before they become issues.
This webinar brings together the experts from energy network provider, E.ON along with FM thought leaders to discuss moving from a reactive service to a proactive service. By identifying energy issues early and automatically, instead of occupants reporting issues, then potential faults can be identified early and remedied. The BMS does this before the problem occurs by using smart alerting and EMC support services.
Panel:
- Sara Bean: Editor FMJ (Facilities Management Journal)
- Nick Westlake: Energy and Service Delivery Manager at E.ON Control Solutions
- Sunil Shah, the author of IWFM’s Energy Management Good Practice Guide and MD of Acclaro Advisory
- David Cermak, Regional Facilities Manager for David Lloyd Clubs
