WPS Facilities Management, part of Wates Group, has renewed its hard FM services contract with West Midlands Police for a further two years, with the option to extend for another three.
The contract renewal sees the continuation of a partnership that’s been in place for the past five years.
The WPS team will provide planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responsive repairs across mechanical, electrical, and water services plus fabric services and specialist project work at the West Midlands Police Headquarters at Lloyd House in Birmingham.
The contract builds on significant growth in the blue light sector for WPS in recent years, who is already working with other emergency services like Hampshire Fire and Rescue and the Police Crime Commissioner.
Jack Prady, Managing Director of WPS Facilities Management, said: “This renewal builds on our successful relationship and reinforces our role as the go-to provider for hard facilities management services for the police, ensuring vital services continue to run uninterrupted.
“With West Midlands Police, we don’t just focus on transactional maintenance activities – we’re always looking for ways to improve building performance. Whether it’s introducing sustainable technologies to help manage energy use or working on specialist projects to make lifts run more efficiently, we continue to be curious, looking at new ways to effectively meet their building challenges.”
David Bridge, Force Engineer at West Midlands Police, said: “We’re pleased to continue our partnership with WPS. The team consistently deliver a high-quality service and are always responsive to our needs. Their proactive approach to maintenance and building performance makes a real difference in keeping our operations running efficiently. We look forward to continuing this successful relationship.”
