Home, leisure, and garden retailer The Range has awarded integrated FM specialist, 14forty, a three-year contract to deliver cleaning and catering services at its new distribution site in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
The recently built facility, which opened in 2024, is the fourth-largest distribution centre in the UK and by the summer of 2025 will be employing over 1,200 people.
Stuart Nicoll, Catering Manager (who has more than 30 years of experience in the sector), will oversee services on site, ensuring a consistently high-quality, customer-focused experience.
Catering services include breakfast and evening meals, with healthy choices always available. In addition, high-quality vending machines provide fresh options such as sandwiches and salads throughout the day.
Gemma Wilson, Operations Manager at 14forty, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “This is an exciting contract win for 14forty with a client who shares our values and is committed to working collaboratively to deliver outstanding services for its on-site teams.
“Everything we do has been tailored to meet the client’s needs. For catering, speed of service was a key requirement, so we installed AI tills to ensure employees can go from entering the restaurant to sitting down with their food in under four minutes.
“For cleaning, we’re delivering continuous service throughout the day, ensuring washrooms, changing rooms, and locker areas remain consistently clean and welcoming.
“This is another great example of the value in packaging FM services with a single provider. The on-site relationships are already exceptional.”
Ian Lucas, Head of the Distribution Centre at The Range, commented: “We’re very pleased to have chosen 14forty as our cleaning and catering partner.
“Their collaborative approach, clear focus on offering menus that include seasonal products and plant-based options, as well as health and wellbeing benefits, really stood out for us. As did the strong catering credentials of Compass Group UK & Ireland. They already feel like part of the team.”
The 14forty team is fully integrated on-site, wearing dual-branded uniforms and receiving the same benefits as The Range employees, including access to an on-site gym and retail discounts at high street stores. These are in addition to the Compass wide employee benefits.
