The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is expanding EV charging access for staff, fleet operations and visitors, with six sites now operational and a further six planned later this year as part of its wider sustainability and fleet transition strategy.
The project supports the Trust’s longer-term ambition to transition fleet vehicles from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric vehicles, while also improving charging accessibility across its estate.
Hydra EVC, a UK-based EV charging infrastructure specialist, is working alongside approved EV installation partner Aspect Group Services to support the rollout of EV charging infrastructure across multiple sites at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT). Hydra EVC supports commercial and public sector organisations with scalable charging solutions tailored to operational and sustainability requirements.
Steven South, CEO and Founder of Hydra EVC, said: “As organisations continue transitioning towards electric vehicles, infrastructure needs to be reliable, scalable and practical for day-to-day operational use.
“Projects like this demonstrate how EV charging infrastructure can support wider sustainability ambitions while improving accessibility for staff, fleet vehicles and visitors across multiple sites.”
Martin Mizen, Senior Director of Estates and Facilities said: “As part of our role as an NHS ‘Anchor Organisation’, we are committed to supporting local communities, sustainability initiatives and regional economic development. Our second Green Plan sets out clear targets for measuring success towards achieving a net-zero carbon future for the Trus. Developing our EV charging rollout forms part of a broader programme focused on reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term sustainable infrastructure.”
Further rollout activity is expected across the region as the programme continues to develop.
FM teams are having to manage more sites, contracts and client expectations with the same number of people. AI isn’t replacing those people: it’s absorbing the coordination overhead that was stealing their time.
On Tuesday 16 June at 11:00am, askporter and FMJ will be holding a webinar which brings together FM leaders who are already using this tech, to discuss what is changing, what is not, and how the future looks for teams that get this right.
