Amey wins Voyager Ground Support Equipment contract

Amey has been awarded a new contract by Defence Equipment & Support, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.

The Voyager Ground Support Equipment scheme will see Amey deliver engineering and spares provision for both scheduled and responsive maintenance of Ground Support Equipment used in support of the RAF’s Voyager air-to-air refuelling and strategic transport fleet.

The Voyager aircraft are a central component of the RAF’s air mobility capability and require consistent ground support to maintain operational standards. Amey will deliver comprehensive support at the RAF’s main operating base, RAF Brize Norton, and will extend services to overseas operations through Contractors on Deployed Operations (CONDO) provision.

Phil Crick, Managing Director for Amey’s defence equipment business, commented: “Securing the Voyager Ground Support Equipment contract is a testament to the quality, reliability, and flexibility we provide to our defence partners. We are honoured by the MOD’s continued confidence and look forward to supporting the evolving requirements of the RAF as they maintain critical air-to-air refuelling and strategic airlift missions.”

Craig McGilvray, Managing Director of Amey Complex Facilities, stated: “Securing the Voyager Ground Support Equipment contract demonstrates the team’s expertise and dedication to the defence sector. This achievement also represents an excellent beginning for Amey who recently became the sole shareholder of this defence equipment business. This win forms a core part of our ongoing defence strategy, allowing us to invest in the people, innovation, and capabilities required to support the MOD now and for the future.”

This award further strengthens Amey’s position as a key provider of UK defence equipment services.
