Churchill gains gold sustainability accreditation

Churchill Services has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis, for sustainability achievement.

This is an improvement on the silver that Churchill was awarded last year and puts the soft services provider in the top five per cent of companies assessed for sustainability.

EcoVadis is an online measuring tool for a company’s sustainability performance. It allows companies to assess the ESG performance of their global suppliers, and considers a range of sustainability issues, which are grouped into four themes: ‘Environment’, ‘Labour & Human Rights’, ‘Ethics’, and ‘Sustainable Procurement’. The platform is used by more than 90,000 companies across 200 industries in more than 160 countries.

To be awarded a gold medal a company must score between 67 and 74 out of 100. Churchill consistently performed better than the industry average in all categories, with its environmental score of 80 a particular highlight. Churchill’s performance in this area and in ‘Labour & Human Rights’ was rated as ‘advanced’ in the assessment.

Hannah Dales, Group Environment Manager at Churchill, said: “We are committed to improving our ESG and this award is recognition of the progress we are making. It’s a fantastic achievement for Churchill as the criteria encompasses a wide range of factors.”
