Churchill wins dual service shopping centre deal

Churchill Group has secured a three-year dual service contract with Heathway Shopping Centre in Dagenham.

The contract, which commenced at the beginning of 2024, includes cleaning and security services delivered through Amulet.

Heathway Shopping Centre is a cornerstone of the local community and caters to approximately two million visitors annually. It is also a key part of a wider £10 million project by Barking & Dagenham Council to redevelop the area.

Heathway Shopping Centre wanted one partner to deliver both services and says Churchill Group stood out from the competition thanks to its expertise in delivering specialised security services tailored to support the unique needs of the centre. The Group has experience with shopping centres all around the country, while its security work with c2c in the local area demonstrated an understanding of the local community.

From a cleaning perspective, the centre will enjoy some continuity of service because Churchill now employs the existing group of cleaning operatives, who bring their extensive experience, to maintain the centre’s cleanliness standards. After one year of service the team will become co-owners thanks to Churchill Group’s status as an Employee Owned Trust.

Darren Read, Chief Operating Officer at Churchill Group, said: “We are proud to support Heathway Shopping Centre and its team in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors. Our deep understanding of the local area positions us well to deliver exceptional service. The development is an exciting time for the whole community, and we’re delighted we can play our part.”

FM Tech Survey 2024

Service Works Global (SWG) is conducting research in partnership with FMJ, to find out how you are using technology in your role through a short survey.

Whatever your FM role, your responses will help to provide analysis and insight into the use of technology, as the FM industry rises to meet the challenges of sustainability, new ways of working and data-driven decision making. This will enable FMs to gain insight into future trends to stay ahead of the curve, and be able to benchmark against the industry as a whole.

The anonymised results will be published so that you can see how you compare to others within the sector.

The survey should take just 5-10 minutes of your time, and as a thank you, participants will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky winner will be picked at random to receive an iPad 10th Generation worth £499.
