EJ Musk Process Services wins with Kellogg’s

EJ Musk Process Services, part of the Edwin James Group, has won a five-year utilities maintenance deal with global food manufacturer Kellogg’s following a competitive tender.

Based at Kellogg’s Trafford Park site in Manchester the contract will cover HVAC, Waste Water Plant and Utilities Maintenance.

The Edwin James Group has over 40 years of experience with Kellogg’s providing a range of services that ensure production environments continue to run efficiently including steel and pipework manufacture, mechanical and electrical engineering, systems integration and supporting digitalisation activities across the business.

Commenting on the new contract award, David Mallinson, MD at Musk, said: “The maintenance elements involved in this new contract are large and complex, requiring specialist expertise and skills not usually seen in a typical facilities management agreement. Our understanding of Kellogg’s and the food manufacturing and production process put us in a strong position and we’re looking forward to working with the team to drive greater productivity and reliability.”

Musk will be introducing a new digital solution at Kellogg’s to transform maintenance practices. The platform offers comprehensive big picture visibility, automating task tracking and meter readings while delivering real-time maintenance information to all team members. Additionally, it actively supports the upskilling of on-site engineers. The increased visibility and intelligence delivered will drive improvements in maintaining regulatory standards and whole-life cost of ownership for Kellogg’s critical assets.

Scott Lowery, Technical and Reliability Manager at Kellogg’s added: “Based on an already successful partnership, we had total confidence that the team at Musk would be able to deliver this critical service. Their approach sets them apart and the new software that they are introducing will provide much greater transparency. The data insight generated will provide more targeted maintenance activities and will support our broader strategy for improved reliability and sustainability.”
