Healthcare Estates is returning as a fully live event in 2022!

This two-day Conference and Exhibition at the prestigious Manchester Central Complex is the UKs largest event for the healthcare engineering and efm sector.

The 4 Key Themes have been revised to reflect the issues that have the greatest impact on our industry and this year there will be more keynote sessions across the two days.

  • Workforce – Focusing on apprentices, recruitment and retention, training, development, re-skilling, and wellbeing.
  • Engineering & Facilities – focusing on key engineering services, infrastructure resilience, and post-COVID innovation and best practice to support the complex needs of critical services and patient safety
  • Strategic and Capital Planning – focusing on the introduction of the Integrated Care Systems, innovation through the New Hospital Programme and the digital agenda. and space planning and utilisation.
  • Net Zero – focussing on Net Zero strategies, targets, and objectives, from a services, infrastructure, and supply chain perspective.

Presentations in the Engineering stream include a look at the use of technology in the digital transformation of an NHS Trust, and the design of a new Emergency Department using a collaborative approach to incorporate lessons learned and create a clinically-driven design. In the Strategic & Capital Planning stream, presenters will discuss a number of new projects within the NHS in which multiple stakeholders have come together to engage and contribute different perspectives, resulting in projects with enhanced performance in terms of efficiency, sustainability, clinical performance, and energy efficiency.  For the Net Zero conference theme, case studies from healthcare settings large and small will be used to illustrate how to reduce carbon emissions, and there will be a post-occupancy review of an existing Passivhaus project and its performance in its first year of operation. The Workforce stream will focus on a range of subjects, including the importance of, and strategies for, caring for employees’ mental health. and developing a workforce that meets the needs of the future.
