Expansive FM awarded CAFM partnership deal with Cazoo

Online car retailer, Cazoo, has selected Expansive FM (EFM) as its new facilities management software partner.

Cazoo is on a mission to change the marketplace with its “digital first approach and unique brand of customer service”. After an intense period of growth and rationalisation, Cazoo was looking to take its FM function completely in-house and bring new efficiencies to the way it works. But with a large network of facilities, multiple contractor relationships and no central FM software, the business had limited oversight of its critical cost centres. As a result, it had no way of optimising its facilities’ performance.

Mike Isted MBE, Head of Estate at Cazoo, explained: “Cazoo is a business that is agile and dynamic. We needed FM software that could flex with us. We wanted a self-governing, self delivering facilities and estate’s management team. We wanted to give them complete control over work order management, costs, compliance and reporting.”

The business began to look for a CAFM partner that could help meet its specific challenges. Isted continued: “We did an extensive, deep dive into the market to try and identify what was the best solution for us. We ran a tender and the EFM platform came out top.”

Josh Randall, Estate Operations Manager at Cazoo, said: “We have 14 sites in the UK, covering offices, retail and car vehicle preparation centres. The asset categories within each property are different and some are very niche and specialist to the industry. When we saw the EFM platform we instantly understood how it could help us help control, oversee and report on our complex maintenance operations.

“We’ve now finished the implementation process. We’ve set up compliance workflows, PPM schedules and dashboards for SLA reporting. The EFM software is incredibly user friendly and works brilliantly on smart phones and tablets. This is important for our highly mobile workforce.”

The team at Cazoo are now looking forward to rolling out the solution across its entire estate.

Randall added: ”Asset downtime will be reduced, compliance will be streamlined – we’re taking complete end to end ownership of our FM process.”

Isted has been particularly impressed with the level of support Cazoo has received from EFM so far. He said: “The senior team at EFM have engaged with us fully from the beginning. They have customised and fine-tuned the whole package for us. From what we have seen, their platform is by far and far and away better than any other system out there.”

Josh Greibach, Co-Founder and CEO at EFM said of the new partnership: “We are really excited to be working with such a dynamic brand as Cazoo, and their amazing FM team. We are looking forward to helping Cazoo unlock new FM efficiencies through a data driven approach.”

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

Planned, proactive maintenance is a keystone of every FM strategy. However, with current cost constraints, there are many demands on Facilities Managers’ maintenance budgets. When it comes to drainage and plumbing, however, the expense of repairing blockages or dealing with flooding could vastly exceed the cost of preventative maintenance.

Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.

The survey will take just five minutes to complete and offers the chance to win an Amazon Gift Card Worth £100.
