Inviron celebrates its apprentices

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, technical FM provider, Inviron, brought together its apprentices to celebrate its Annual Apprentice Day at a quirky venue in London.

With over 30 apprentices across Inviron, the company currently offers one of the largest apprenticeship schemes within the industry. Whilst it has traditional FM apprenticeships such as electrical, gas and plumbing, Inviron also encourages apprenticeships in all aspects of its business and provides opportunities for those wanting to explore other areas from project management, quantity surveying, helpdesk and contract support through to sales and marketing.

To ensure Inviron provides the best opportunities for its apprentices, it often brings them together to network, collaborate and demonstrate teamwork.

Inviron’s Apprentice Day included the company’s annual challenge, where apprentices were tasked with pitching a new product to five Inviron Senior Managers. Noel Clancy, Inviron’s Managing Director and ex-apprentice, hosted the Dragon’s Den style pitch activity, where apprentices collaborated on a sales pitch for an environmentally friendly product. Inviron also organised a speed networking session and its apprentices heard from one of the firm’s Business Unit Directors, who gave an insight into how he had progressed throughout his career having started as an apprentice.

Clancy commented: “I am absolutely passionate about our apprenticeship programme and delighted to be a part of these events. My apprenticeship opened up a world full of opportunities for me which is why I will continue to support the next generation wherever possible. We have an excellent cohort within Inviron and in comparison to our FM peers, our apprenticeship programme is one that we can feel exceptionally proud of.”

2023 FMJ and Grundon Recycling and Waste Management Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management is pleased to launch the 2023 waste management and recycling survey which examines the ways in which FMs approach their waste management responsibilities.

In this, the sixth year for the annual appraisal, we know there is a greater opportunity than ever for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and help their organisations meet the growing pressure to achieve ESG goals.

We want to learn how FMs have adapted to the legislative, economic and societal changes of the past year and how they plan to meet the latest waste and recycling targets.

In this survey we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, how they’re moving towards zero waste targets, and the importance of not just meeting compliance targets but also ESG goals.

The results of the 2023 survey will be published in FMJ magazine and form the basis of a white paper co-written by FMJ and the experts at Grundon on how to approach waste and recycling strategies.
