Leading energy efficiency property business appoints new chair

ENABLE, a business that provides advice to help people to make their homes more energy efficient, has appointed Paul Gratton as its new Chair as it looks to accelerate growth after a successful first 12 months.

Having created over 50 new jobs since launching last year, the Enable team has already examined over 20,000 homes and, where it’s full Home Energy Review was undertaken, has saved over £1000 per property in annual energy costs.

Gratton  also recently took up the position of Chair at Wise Living; a business he helped to found which has since grown to become one of the UK’s largest providers of Build-to-Rent Single Family Housing (BTR SFH) for the private rental sector.

Gratton said: “With the rapid rise in fuel prices and the urgent need for greener homes there has never been a greater requirement for people to understand the most effective things they can do to reduce the amount of energy consumed at home.

“With people’s homes responsible for over 20 per cent of the UK’s harmful carbon emissions and around 27 million homes that need improvements if they are to meet the government’s carbon reduction and efficiency targets, the potential market opportunity is huge. The unbiased advice that Enable offers is central to tackling the need to make homes greener, more energy efficient and cheaper to run.”

Joe Miller, CEO of Enable, said: “We’ve had a fantastic first year, not only reflecting the enormous efforts of our team but also the need and demand for our services that make practical and unbiased suggestions about how to meet energy and efficiency targets.

“We’re passionate about improving people’s homes because we believe that can significantly improve people’s lives as well as contributing to carbon reduction. Paul shares this vision and his drive and experience in rapidly growing many successful and innovative businesses will allow us to scale even more quickly to help even more people have warm and affordable homes.”
