Employee-owned communications consultancy, Magenta Associates, has won the Professional Services Award at the Brighton and Hove Business Awards 2025. The awards celebrate exceptional client service, strong leadership, and a commitment to the highest professional standards.
Magenta was recognised for embedding employee voices, inclusive governance, and long-term sustainability into its business model. It transitioned to an employee-owned model in October 2024, making every employee a stakeholder in Magenta’s future, and gained B Corp certification in April 2025.
Magenta was founded in 2011 and has earned national recognition for its performance and growth, ranking 38th in the B2B category of the most recent PRWeek Top 150 Agency list.
Magenta’s commitment to exceptional service delivery is showcased through industry expertise, collaborative relationships, and impact measurement beyond marketing metrics. It specialises in supporting progressive organisations across numerous sectors, including the built environment, energy, workplace and sustainability.
Its research partnership with the University of Sussex, along with Magenta’s commitment to publish an annual Impact Report, are at the heart of its purpose to drive social and environmental change. Magenta is also a proud signatory of the Anti-Greenwashing Charter and upholds its own Responsible Communications Charter and Green Claims Policy.
Jo Sutherland, MD at Magenta Associates, said: “This award is recognition that you can commit to your purpose and deliver outstanding work. Becoming B Corp certified was a real highlight this year, after the success of our transition to becoming an employee-owned business. When we say we want to work with progressive organisations, we are putting our money where our mouth is. We’ve got big plans for the year ahead and it’s fantastic to see that we’re on the right track.”
