New FM director to drive growth at Momentum

The Momentum Group has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of Matthew Pilling as Director of the company’s facilities management business.

In his role, Pilling will further develop Momentum Maintain’s operational excellence to help meet the Group’s ambitious five-year growth plan. This will include implementing sustainable facilities management practices and establishing best in class efficiency through the implementation of sector-leading innovation.

Pilling joins The Momentum Group from GeoBear Global where he was Managing Director for Residential. He has also held previous roles at BNP Paribas, Incentive FM, Cloudfm and at Engie where he led on the US Airforce FM contract for all nine of their UK bases and at Capita where he headed up its portfolio of more than 250 London properties.

Speaking about his new role, Pilling said: The Momentum Group has huge growth potential, and I am looking forward to applying my experience and knowledge to deliver the company’s vision. The Momentum Group is a unique set up in that it offers multiple services, advisory, build and property management alongside FM, and this is an exciting opportunity to grow the FM division such that it makes a significant contribution to the group as a whole.”

Chris Bliss, Co-Founder and Director of The Momentum Group, commented: “Matthew is innovative, dynamic and passionate about his industry. As well as a significant track record, Matthew brings a fresh perspective, having expertise in both driving business growth and working with large commercial clients.  Matthew is a key appointment as we continue to evolve our FM business and build upon a period of sustained growth.”

The announcement comes as The Momentum Group continues a period of impressive expansion which has seen its team and office space more than double in the last year. Operating four commercial businesses, Advise, Build, Manage and Maintain, The Momentum Group has recently created Contribute as the fifth arm of the business.  Its clients include Grosvenor at Liverpool ONE, Queensbury at Metquarter, Redevco, Schroders and Appreciate Group.

The FM portfolio includes Runcorn Shopping City, the town’s main retail destination, and a number of Liverpool’s landmark buildings, including The Keel, The Princes Building and Glenbrook’s One Temple Square, and for Yakel Property Investment, the Grade I listed Oriel Chambers, the Grade A office building Aviation House and Bramley House in Guildford, Surrey.

Momentum’s previous Head of Facilities Management, Associate Director, Karl Clawley, takes up a new role for The Momentum Group overseeing the management of Momentum Contribute, covering issues such as Sustainability, Client Care, and Corporate Social Responsibility and leading on the Group’s charitable efforts via the Momentum Foundation.
