Richard Jones appointed Managing Director for ESS Government business

ESS, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has welcomed Richard Jones to its leadership team, joining joins ESS as Managing Director for its Government business. Jones will take responsibility for the strategic direction and service delivery across ESS Government which provides a range of catering and FM services to high-profile clients within central government, police and secure environments.

He joins ESS from Sodexo where he has spent the past 13 years in several senior project and operational roles, most recently leading high-profile Government contracts delivering catering and FM services. Jones brings a wealth of experience, including comprehensive knowledge of Integrated Facilities Management across the UK and internationally, and a proven track record of contract transformation.

Jones commented:

Prior to working in the FM industry, Jones spent 22 years in the British Army, where he rose through the ranks and held a series of key leadership appointments across a range of strategic and operational roles, both in the UK and overseas.

He is a Certified member of the IWFM (Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management), sits on the committee of the IWFM Veterans in FM Network, is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, holds an MSc in Facilities Management and is a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies.
