VIVO Defence extends USVF contract

Just over two-years since it started providing facilities management at US air bases across England, VIVO Defence Services’ United States Visiting Forces (USVF) contract has been extended by a further two years, on top of the three years initially awarded in 2022.

VIVO looks after six USVF bases and five satellite site on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), which is part of the UK Ministry of Defence. The USVF bases VIVO provides services for are RAF Alconbury,  RAF Lakenheath, RAF Feltwell,  RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford, RAF Menwith Hill,  RAF Mildenhall,  RAF Fylingdales, RAF Molesworth, RAF Welford and RAF Blenheim Crescent. At these, the United States’ 48th Fighter Wing, the 100th Air Refuelling Wing and 501st Combat Support Wing are based.

VIVO has persistently scored high customer satisfaction rates across all USVF work areas – and received positive feedback, which has supported the decision to extend the contract to the full maximum amount available during this contract term.

The work involves looking after more than 4,000 operational buildings and over 1,600 military family homes for American service personnel, carrying out maintenance tasks and more specialist construction projects at each USVF base.

Moira Hassel, DIO’s Regional Delivery Director, said: “Following more than two years working with VIVO on the USVF Facilities Management contract, we have taken the decision to extend the arrangement for a further two years.

“It is important that all parties ensure a quality service is provided to our friends and allies in the US Visiting Forces and this decision reflects the strength of the close working relationship between DIO, US Visiting Forces and our suppliers and provides an opportunity to build on the success to date.”

Jerry Moloney, VIVO Defence Services Chief Executive Officer, added: “I would like to thank all our teams working for the USVF as their critically important roles help enable the United States Air Forces’ air defence capability as it works with Britain and our European allies.

“Their hard work and dedication led to this contract being extended by the maximum two-year term available, which is a real recognition of what they have achieved so far.”

VIVO Defence Services is a 50/50 joint venture between Serco and Equans.
