VIVO names three official charities across the UK armed forces

VIVO Defence Services – a joint 50/50 venture between Serco and EQUANS – has named the three national military-based charities that will benefit from funds raised by its staff – one for each branch of our military – just ahead of Armed Forces Day, taking place tomorrow 24 June.

The FM and maintenance provider will raise funds to support the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

VIVO, which works solely for the UK military and its partners, will enter a three-year partnership with each charity and colleagues across the business will arrange a series of events to raise funds.

Jerry Moloney, VIVO Defence Services Managing Director, said: “We are extremely proud of the fact that VIVO works solely for the UK military and its partners, and it is important that we give back and provide social value to serving and former service people. I am really pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.”

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity was founded in 2007 and funds projects and facilities that support the wellbeing of those who serve today. They also work hand in hand with partner charities and organisations to care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary.

Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Chief Executive Officer Andrew Jameson added: “We are grateful to have been chosen as one of VIVO Defence Services supported charities. VIVO Defence will be significant in supporting our vital work helping the Royal Navy community and their families, and we have taken great please in working closely with them. We are confident are relationship will thrive in this new partnership.”

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the British Army’s national charity. Supporting soldiers, past and present, and their families for life. It was established in 1944 and last year it supported 65,000 people in 48 countries around the world and funded more than 66 charities and other organisations.

Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, said: “Our charity is enormously grateful for VIVO Defence’s support and welcome the efforts of its staff in raising funds to help soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need.”

The RAF Benevolent Fund provides financial, emotional, and practical assistance to serving and retired RAF personnel and their families. This includes grants to help with financial difficulty, free memberships for Headspace, Airplay youth clubs, and more.

Air Vice-Marshal Chris Elliot, Controller at the RAF Benevolent Fund, commented: “We are delighted to have been selected as one of VIVO’s three military charities for their Charities of the Year partnership. We are looking forward to working together, over the next three years, to ensure we are able to continue to provide life-changing emotional, practical and financial support to the RAF Family.”
