Webinar discusses ways FMs can create a resilient and compliant supply chain

The current economic crisis, market insecurities – including labour and material shortages and achieving ESG and sustainability are predicted to be the greatest disruptors in the supply chain for FMs this year. This is according to the results of a poll carried out during the webinar: Creating a transparent, compliant and resilient supply chain: Diversity as a key enabler to success hosted by FMJ and Alcumus.

A crucial way for FMs to meet emerging ESG goals is to evaluate, monitor and manage their supply chain. In this way they can ensure the delivery of high-performing workplaces, while also making a positive impact on society and the environment. To discuss how this could be achieved, FMJ teamed up with Alcumus, leaders in supply chain compliance, their client Sodexo, world leader in catering and facilities management, and Bunzl Catering supplies, which puts sustainability at the core of its business.

The panel, which fittingly for International Women’s Day featured an all-female line-up, was moderated by FMJ Editor Sara Bean and comprised; Gemma Archibald, Divisional CEO, Alcumus Supply Chain Compliance, Gemma Lynch, SVP of Strategic Accounts, Alcumus Supply Chain Compliance, Aoife Wycherley, Head of Supply Chain and Head of Food Procurement, Sodexo and Helen Cockerham, Managing Director at Bunzl Catering Supplies.

It was agreed that an important element of ESG is in embracing equity to create an affirming, inclusive, and equitable educational ecosystem. The shared some inspiring examples of how their organisations strive to meet these goals both internally and also within their supply chain.

They also agreed that while the effective management of diverse suppliers in the supply chain is societally right there are a number of ways is it also hugely beneficial to businesses, from attracting and retaining talent to ensuring highly valued partnerships.
