Churchill has landed a five-year contract to deliver cleaning services at Birmingham Airport (BHX).
The contract commences in May and will see Churchill provide services including terminal, washroom and window cleaning across both airside and landside environments.
As part of the agreement, a team of 103 colleagues will transfer to Churchill, covering frontline and management roles. A dedicated Transformation Manager has also been appointed to support during the nine-month transition period and beyond. Services will focus within the terminal building alongside other on-site buildings, maintaining high standards for the forecasted 14.5 million passengers that will travel through BHX during 2026.
Churchill’s win was driven by its deep understanding of the airport’s operational needs and transformation plans. Its approach replaces static cleaning schedules with a flexible, data-led model. Using footfall sensors, customer feedback and real-time reporting, teams will be deployed based on demand, ensuring consistent standards across all areas.
Vicky Swift, Operations Director at Churchill, said: “We’re delighted to add Birmingham Airport to our growing aviation portfolio. The sector knows we have the capability and expertise to deliver, and we’re looking forward to continuing our growth.”
Chris Wilson, Head of Terminal and Capacity Planning at Birmingham Airport, added: “We were impressed by Churchill’s clear understanding of our operation and its dynamic approach to service delivery. As we continue to invest in and transform the airport, it’s essential that our partners can match that ambition. Churchill’s focus on innovation, flexibility and collaboration made them the right choice for us, and we look forward to working together to deliver high standards for our passengers.”
